About the club

Edithvale Life Saving Club was founded in 1919 and occupies the oldest lifesaving clubhouse in Port Phillip Bay. ELSC has a proud history as an active club, performing many rescues, first aid treatments and reuniting parents with their lost children during the patrol season. While the original clubhouse still stands, the club underwent major renovations in 1999 adding the balcony and a more functional radio observation deck. Our members consist of family groups, children, teenagers and adults all with one thing in common, a love of our beach. With a passionate committee and membership group, we are committed to upholding the longstanding tradition of protecting the public on our beach.
